Again, not realistic to true golf and the programmers lazy easy way out. Instead there is a mysterious line somewhere. No out of bounds markers.still!!! again, year after year after year after year this is not included. A fade or draw is simply decided.how lame.in real golf it is part of the swing execution, and sadly was in TW video game like 6 years ago and got removed somehow. EA does well on course management but fails on swing execution! While course management is a huge part of golf, so is swing execution. That said with a bad rated golfer.you can miss the fairway, just simply because of the huge circle landing zone (even with a perfectly executed swing). +/- EA counters this with their Tour Pro and Tournament difficulties by taking away extra spin, taking away extra power, take away visibility, and take way aiming aids. I can execute a near perfect swing nearly 100% of the time. The game play mechanics of swinging the club with the analog controller are just FAR FAR TOO EASY. That said, I just can't forgive EA's omission of several game play issues any longer to give them much higher than 3/5 (see below). So if you like that game, yes, it is basically the same with some tweaks for the better. OK.first of all this is a slight improvement on last years game. It all depends on whether or not you like the idea of a caddy setting up your shots and if you are OK with heavy DLC implementation in career mode. If you want a game that lets you play Augusta and gives you an enjoyable golfing experience, TW 12 is a safe bet. But DLC implementation needs to be adjusted and not buying DLC shouldn't negatively impact players. The gameplay is essentially the same as previous TW games, so you know exactly what to expect. So, to sum it all up, TW 12 is a very good game. ![]() If you're a golf fan of any caliber, these are excellent additions to the game. You can also try to replicate famous moments at Augusta in Masters Moments mode. The Par 3 course at Augusta is also included, as is the Par 3 Contest in career mode. There's the ability to play through Tiger Woods' runs at the Green Jacket in 'Tiger At The Masters' mode. And because of Augusta and The Masters, a lot of attention is paid to the history surrounding the famous course and tournament. The Presidents' Cup is included, which plays just like the Ryder Cup did in TW 11. Online game modes are included and many options are available. Outside of career mode, there are plenty of other things to do. So DLC almost becomes a necessity, which is disheartening. There are also mixed reports out there that claim that skipping the DLC events negatively impacts your world ranking. So you either have to buy DLC to fill the schedule or skip about 25% of the schedule. There are 6 DLC events over the course of a 25-event season. If you don't purchase DLC, you must skip events during the PGA Tour season that use DLC courses. This should be a positive, right? Well, it kinda is and kinda isn't. But one major issue puts a dent in an otherwise enjoyable game mode.ĭLC is included in career mode for the first time in the series' history. As I said, it's a deep system that makes you feel like you actually have something to work towards. AI scoring levels are adjustable this year, so you can 'play against' computer opponents who match your ability level. Sponsors are also factored in and add some other objectives to complete for your career. You can play 10 PGA Tour seasons in the mode, so replayability is there. ![]() Then, your created character (no actual pros can be used in career mode) tries to climb the world rankings to qualify for The Masters. You start in the lower-level amateur and Nationwide Tours and fight through Q School to get your PGA Tour card. The revamped career mode - called Road to The Masters - is deeper than previous TW series career modes. But with TW 12 having Augusta, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to pick it up for an HD console. ![]() It was a game-seller for me, since I was pretty happy with TW 11 for Wii. The fact that Augusta is in TW 12 is enough for a lot of people. I like the feature.I just wish it could be completely disabled for those who don't like it. Some feel it holds players' hands too much. Also, the heavily hyped caddy system is a love-it-or-hate-it feature. EA has made regarding DLC implementation into the game's career mode. However, not everything is perfect in this year's game. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters is the answer to those prayers. Sports gamers have wished, hoped and prayed for years to have a playable version of Augusta National Golf Club inserted into a mainstream video game.
